Of all the artists who have worked in the DUNE universe, the most influential has been John Shoenherr, whose stark and haunting images set the tone for Frank Herbert's famous chronicles. Shoenherr, a wildlife artist by profession, also contributed many drawings to science fiction magazines such as ANALOG.
